Joe Crestuk, President of webSURGE Digital Marketing, an agency with over 2 million in annual sales and 12 employees, has been performing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and online lead generation tactics since the early days of the “Internet”. Over the past 16 years, Crestuk has implemented and supported digital marketing tactics that have improved lead generation for hundreds of clients.
He began his career as an electrician at the early age of 16 after leaving school early due to a “troubled” adolescence. At that time, he found he excelled in computer network installation and low voltage systems integration. He continued in that field into adulthood pioneering unique applications for multi-tenant facilities to generate revenue through Internet, telephone, and television services.
At the age of 21, Crestuk went to work for his father at his architectural firm, which specialized in design and development of multi tenant communities where Crestuk deployed his multi tenant revenue generation systems and Information Technology solutions.
On September 11, 2001 tragedy struck the USA and most of the large construction the firm was involved in became highly delayed which caused the firm to close it’s doors and Crestuk went to work as VP of Business Development for a large Internet Service Provider (ISP) in downtown Rochester cultivating relationships with business clients across Upstate New York. This company served mostly dial-up internet subscribers, however, Crestuk focused on web development and hosting for high bandwidth T-1, T-3, and OC-3 connected commercial clients. As dial-up wound down (the bulk of this company’s revenue) to make way for residential high speed internet, Crestuk merged the commercial clients over to his own platform to keep them from being turned off as the company became insolvent and to hopefully keep them as clients. Though some opted to move on, a majority stayed and became the base clients for webSURGE.
webSURGE started in the basement of Crestuk’s house in 2007. For years, Crestuk built and utilized a team of developers in India and worked days supporting his clients in the US, and then nights communicating with his team in India. In 2013, webSURGE began to hire writers and developers in the US, and since then the company has grown to a point where it was necessary to move into a 2000 sf space in 2014, and just recently into over 4000 sf in 2017.
Today, webSURGE clients include the likes of Coopervision, Dow Chemical Company, Worldwide Electric Corp, Rochester Regional Healthcare, and many more. Crestuk has spoken both locally and nationally to large and small groups of C-level executives to help their companies take full advantage of the web. He has successfully increased his clients’ sales by up to 100%.
