Backlinks Earn High PR
Any SEO campaign that isn’t packing a punch and providing the webmaster with targeted traffic that will help the site rank well is useless. Many website owners are using “tried and true” SEO methods that aren’t yielding them the results they initially anticipated. That’s because the king of search engines , Google, has begun to crack down on pages that rank exponentially due to the sheer amount of pages and content they produce via third party sites. Basically, the days of creating squidoo pages for products or services and getting ranked well on the search engines are over. Now, more than ever webmasters have to utilize fresh content, consistency, automation, relationships and relevant backlinks if they want to stay in the game.
If you weren’t using backlinks as a means of ranking in the search engines before the crackdown you missed out on a fundamental advertising and traffic generation opportunity. Although Google has taken its stand, backlinks are still a superb means of generating serious traffic and increasing brand visibility. A backlink, for those wondering, is a link pointing to your site from someone else’s site. It’s that simple, or so it may seem. There are a few issues that occur when attempting to get backlinks. The first is that, generally bloggers and webmasters will not backlink to an unknown party. Second, page rank directories worth posting on now cost. And lastly, bloggers will delete comments that are advertisements or backlink requests only. However, there are ways around these roadblocks.
The first is that when you request a backlink from site, make absolute sure they actually are a part of your market. Not competition though. For instance, if you are an animal daycare, request backlinks from sites that offer pet supplies or grooming services. Also, when requesting a backlink, make sure that your message is of actual use. Try providing something useful to the webmaster such as content, backlinks that you’ve posted of their site etc. Also, you want sites that have high page rankings, preferably on the first page of the search engines.
When, using PR, page ranking, directories the key is to manage them efficiently. You don’t need to post on 25 directories to get the point across. Basically you want high ranking PR directories that will be of actual use. Then choose two or three of them (as they may very well cost) and post your links to those.
When commenting on blogs as a means of linking back to your content, ADD VALUE TO THE BLOG. You will be blacklisted and your comment rejected or deleted if you advertise instead of comment. This does require actually reading the blogs, which shouldn’t be too difficult as they can be as short as 100 words. Again, backlinks on blogs relevant to your niche will have priority in Google so choose widely. You can also have a service post your comment or blog with backlinks to high ranking blogs for you.
No matter which method you choose you must have relevant fresh content or plan for your backlinks to fail.
